Trigger’s Toys collaborated with two leaders from the restaurant industry to raise money for bartenders out of work and desperately needing assistance.  We quickly put together The Great Texas BBQ Pickup where people could buy a meal for 4 ppl for $49.99 and/or they could also purchase a meal for a frontline hero as a thank you for what they are doing. which we delivered to Parkland Hospital 2 nights ago.

We are incredibly happy to report the results, we were able to sell approx. 450 meals and raise approx. $22,500 for Trigger’s Toys!  After expenses it is just above $15,000 that we raised and we sent applications out to over 100 bartenders to apply for a grant from Trigger’s Toys to help with mortgage, bills, food etc.  We received right at 40 applications and as a group decided Trigger’s would chip in and cover the remaining $5,000 to make it an even $20,000 and give each industry professional $500 each.

It is incredibly exciting to be able to do this because they are hurting severely at the moment.  We had PR in the Dallas Morning News, Culture Map, Fox News, Dallas Observer and several blogs around DFW and even advertised on 1310 The Ticket!  That reach we hope will snowball into bigger things down the road and it’s a great way for us to show love to the people who have helped build Trigger’s Toys since the beginning.  Our message was that they have always been here for us, now we are going to be here for them!
